I didn't think I'd like the book. It's about teenagers and if you're in your 20s (or 30s..40s etc) I feel like it's just not that interesting what teenagers usually like to read.

But oh my, I was so wrong.

I LOVED the book, lots of great characters, depth, emotions, drama /and trauma/ and lots and lots of funny scenes and BANTER. I literally LAUGHED OUT LOUD!!

Went straight to the second book. Highly recommend!

this book is quite the literal definition of the slowest fucking burn ever but still keeps me on the edge of my seat.

let's start with some bad stuff and then we'll get on to the good stuff.

shannon. i'm sorry, but this shannon character has zero fucking personality other than being small and bullied. the bullied part i get but i feel like she can't stress to people enough that she's so small and everyone around her is so harsh and so big. i don't know, i just can't.

the slow burn in this book is putting me on such edge. i feel like the book hasn't even burned yet. nothing's been lit up. this book ist just a huge fucking tease. i cannot imagine having to wait a year or two for the next installment, because as of ending the book last night, i need the next book like right now. right fucking now. i need to see their romance so bad.

progressing to the better stuff, there were so many cute and sweet moments that has me kicking my feet in the air the entire time. johhny kavanagh can smack me for all i care and i'd still be head over heels for the dude. he's so protective and sweet to shannon. he tries so hard to be this innocent dude for her in respect of her innocence... i guess? i feel their chemistry in every single scene they're in. i hated their single povs because it goes on and on and on, but scenes where they're with each other has me such on a chokehold. i really love johnny's character way more than i did shannon. i felt more depth in his character than i did hers.

oh and shannon's family can all just fuck off. really, fuck off. joey has his sweet big brother moments but when it actually really counts, he's not in for the ride. not going to say anything more to it. i really want johnny to find her father and just get on with the fighting. i thought we were going to get this scene in this book but noooooooo... it's a slow burn book and it's burning my feelings to death.

all in all i am obsessed with this book for so many numbers of reasons. can't wait to read the next one.
