Genuinely a fantastic way to tell some of Iran's history. The graphic novel format really works to somehow both humanize and soften the story. Plus I knocked another off the NYT 100 of the 21st century.

This graphic novel tells a lot of the Iranian conflict in the 1970s and 1980s. It gives a personal story, making the conflict more realistic and heartbreaking for the reader.

I read this book in one sitting, simply enthralled. Panels in this book will make you laugh and make you weep. I give this my highest recommendation.
