I didn't like the tone or the very snappy/snarky narrative style.

Wow! This book was so exciting, I couldn't put it down. I've never read urban fantasy before, and never had the interest to try, but I've read most of this author's other books (under a different pen name) and decided to try. I'm so glad I did. There was the usual romance that I love, but there was also so much more. It took me a while to get used to the urban fantasy part, but I got lost in the characters and their story. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of book 2 now!

Keep going

Well, that one took a hot minute to get into, but once you are hooked, you are hooked until the end.
This book is all about deception and secrets that need to be told but have been lost. Once they are let out, no one, and I mean no one, is left unscathed. Everyone's beliefs are questioned, so really, you have no idea who is good and who is bad? Or really is any side right or wrong? Or is it the circumstances they were put in that set them to be they way they turned out?
Like I said yeah took a few chapters (okay really like 30% of the book) for me to get into the plot but once it started heating up it was great and made me interested enough to keep going with this series.
Left in a hfn, but the trilogy is complete, so that's okay, cause on to the next one I go.

I’ve started to read this before, but didn’t finish it. Interesting premise, not great execution.

Slow burn paranormal enemies-to-lovers. It had enough action to keep me hooked throughout the book, the audio narrator did a wonderful job in creating a voice for the characters.

DNF 20% - The worldbuilding was interesting, but the chemistry was not there. And I noped out when one
Spoilerof the MCs admitted to murdering a woman he'd been seeing. Granted it was under a curse, but the delivery was off and I was just not here for any of it *shurgs*

Exciting

Witch hunter vs witch, who will win? Who is telling the truth? This was an action packed ride with an interesting take on witches. I liked that our characters both believed they were on the right side and doing good. It made it much easier to forgive their past actions. I’m looking forward to book two!
