A quick, well-written short story that doesn’t leave you disappointed. This was exactly what I thought it would be! 4 stars.

Interesting little novella. Made for a good audiobook listen on a walk. Somewhat predictable. Love TJR as always. Content is all made up of letters from four different perspectives.

For what it was, I enjoyed it. Since it’s just a short story it’s a fast read and really short, but I would’ve loved if she’d written this into an actual book with more depth! The story line was interesting and easy to get invested in.

I loved the way it was told through letters, very reminiscent of the Daisy Jones interview style (also loved when she threw the mention of Daisy Jones in)

i read this book in a hour and it was exactly what i was looking for. it was short it was quick but it had so much thought and emotion?

the whole book is a series of letters so if you don’t like letters don’t read this. like it’s all letters all 115 pages.

bro i wanted more. like i just wanted 1 more letter im not gonna lie but i love this book.

cheating is a very heavy topic and the plot twist at the end i was in complete shock (so if you aren’t ready for that don’t read unless you wanna hate read).

but i love tjr <3

“You must know we could never be a one-time thing. We are once-in-a-lifetime paramours.”

I read this novel with very little idea that this is going to be about cheating. Still, I was fucking heartbroken every time I read a letter from Ken or Janet. Most especially the line above. It fucking hurts from the perspective of Carrie to read it while not breaking down. Imagine loving and devoting your whole self to your husband only to find out that he has been lying to you?

"Leave him. I will leave Carrie in a heartbeat. She is not you, has not meant to me in ten years what you have come to mean to me in a matter of months."

I wanted to enter into my Kindle and just slap the heck out of Ken. What a fucking asshole. I cried the most upon reading that. I cannot imagine the betrayal.

Let's talk about that ending though.

Of course I saw it coming, the correspondence between Carrie and David indicated that there is going to be ~more of them. I just didn't expect her last letter though? Taylor Jenkins Reid, you are a gem.

I wanted to read more of the characters after but at the same time I am very satisfied with the way it ends. It leaves the reader the power to think of what will happen :)
