This engaging teen/YA graphic novel covers a life-changing year in Winifred's life, as she deals with mental health issues, finds new friends, and figures out who she wants to be. It's a fictionalized story of the author's high school years and includes a "book within a book" of the zines that Wini and her friends write, draw & publish.

Issues-driven graphic novel that seems both too simple and also loaded with teens grappling with complex issues. Issues of gender, sexuality, eating disorders, depression, therapy. The 'zine within a graphic novel concept was good, along with the encouragement to express yourself creatively, but overall this felt like it addressed too many ideas while not diving deeply enough. I had to push myself to finish it.
