Honestly, I wish I could rate it 4.5! It was such an easy read, so cute with a heavy pour on the spicy scenes. ♥️

Okay, so I had meant to just read 100 pages or so before going to bed last night but instead I got sucked in. This fake dating romance was super cute and I just loved how awkward and relatable the main female character was.

There were a few small things that took me out of the moment here or there but I can't really pinpoint what they were. I also had one very small "huh?" moment towards the end that I will touch up on in the spoiler part of this review. That being said, none of those things took away my enjoyment of the book.

I do feel like I have to say (whenever I rate a romance) That I LOVE romance novels and tend to be slightly bias in that regard. Think objectively this was a great book for anyone looking for a cute, light hearted, rom-com, fake dating romance, with some steamy moments.

Spoiler Thoughts:
Spoiler
As usual I enjoyed that the book did not focus on some stupid miscommunication/misunderstanding. There was a little bit of that regarding Duncan's assumption that she was in love with her ex still. BUT I felt like that misunderstanding played out believably considering the circumstances. Because they were only fake dating it makes sense that he wouldn't feel the need to confront her about it, and I LOVED how he handled it when he found out. Being the best fake boyfriend that he could be and sympathizing with her instead of making things about himself.

The only thing that didn't fully make sense to me, and felt like it was just there to make that misunderstanding into a 'thing', was when her ex came to her at the end for advice. He didn't seem like the type from what was shown to us in the book. Him and her cousin were basically pretending that this big awkward thing wasn't happening. I will say, PERHAPS if he had noticed her reaching out to him when his bride left him at the later.. if just for a moment before rushing off. Then I may have understood more, her being one of the last people he saw when it wall went down. Especially if they had some eye's lock moment where she notices his despair or something.. But they never interacted and he pretended that she didn't really exist..

In general that ex interaction just didn't really feel needed. That being said, it wasn't bad.

And I think the thing that took me out of it a few times were the steamy moments?? I did enjoy them, but I think I'm not used to the writing style maybe. Or perhaps they could have been transitioned in a smoother way?? I dont know. I think the book was well written, included the sex scenes so perhaps I need a second read to have a more objective understanding of whatever it is that briefly took me out of the moment a few times.
