Read for book club. I loved this as a thought-experiment, but am glad it wasn't any longer. Looking forward to discussing it.

A solid read. Interesting story for sure. It didn’t hit me super hard I wasn’t very invested in the characters, I was more invested in the story of what was happening with the corruption at Sleep Corps and when Mr. Harkness takes Trish to the night market I guess I was just more like “what’s going to happen next” and less actually caring about the people, which I found disappointing. I would still recommend this book because it was a unique short story, there are some illustrations which was interesting, but yeah overall it was good not great.

really liked the concept and ideas but as a novella, they were all surface level. wish it was novel length instead to dive deeper into the messages.

I really, really liked Karen Russell's novel Swamplandia, so I was super excited to read Sleep Donation...especially since it's semi-science fiction. I loved the concept, and starting off it reminded me a little of Ursula LeGuin's The Lathe of Heaven. But, where Swamplandia and TLoH left me dazzled, Sleep Donation left me feeling, I dunno, tired? I think this would have been better as a short story...or, maybe, as a more complete novel.
