beautiful and lyrical. Truly came from the guy's soul but just a little to introspective and poetic at times when describing something so raw. I wouldn't call it overwritten, if that is the right word.Again it came from the guy's soul so I don't think it was intentional

Even though it was a form of self-torture to read this memoir (too many of the logistics are similar to my own), it was also a lovely story of surviving and finding hope after unimaginable loss. You can also hear an interview with Jayson on Kate Bowler's podcast, Everything Happens. I especially appreciated his acknowledgement that while he processes with words, hence a book, others, like his wife Stacy, process things in other ways and that's okay too. While not being typically religious people, Jayson and Stacy found that 'thin places' between this world and another felt real and helped them heal.

This book is breathtaking, raw, and so real and honest. The author is remarkably brave in the honesty with which he recalls the most horrific of experiences known to humanity. I was so drawn in by his story that in the end I felt palpable relief at the safe delivery of their son, and the peace which seemed to settle on this family. It felt like a privilege to be taken along on this journey.

Devastating but so well written. Greene walks the reader through his grief after the death of his two year old daughter. It is spiritual and heartbreaking and so beautiful.

Well-written personal story of moving through grief at the loss of his toddler daughter in a frightening freak accident. I was moved to tears many times, so you may not want to read in public!
