two stars for the completely random florence pugh mentions.
one star for my mental casting of ella purnell as violet.
lost all other stars on account of birdie being insufferable in every sense and her dialogue being written as a google search of trending slang although the character is well in her thirties, even if being in her thirties explains why the slang is dated and used awkwardly. good god.

Cute! Didn’t know I needed a triple queer holiday romance but alas! This had a lot going on but the author managed all the storylines well and I liked the variety of tropes on offer.

This book just wasn't it for me. I didn't find any of the main characters very likeable. I found the book felt long, like it drug on, and there was no real humour in it.

I loved It Had to Be You, but this one, which I expected to be more like Love Actually in book form, fell flat.

All storylines are same sex, which doesn't really match the cover. I love love, it doesn't matter to me who is falling, but these stories felt a little forced.

Also, there is a plot line with medical issues, and as someone with the same issue, I didn't love how it was represented.

This book was perfect! I loved the Belvedere siblings: Rafi has such a big heart, Birdie is truly laugh out loud funny, and Liz painfully reminded me of myself (cue the millennial cue) lol. The setting (hollywood matron mom's quirky/swanky renovated inn in upstate New York) was lush and cozy and of course I wanted to be there too. And the drama level was just right, with plenty of character growth along the way.
