I loved the Christmasy scene, hollywood vibes, and quirky characters, but it was a bit too ambitious to cramp three love stories into one book. I feel as though none got the time they deserved for a book classified in the romance genre. As a family drama, it did a solid job exploring the complexity of mixed families and sibling dynamics.

one of the only reasons this isn’t rated higher is because i really disliked birdie. i didn’t find any of her jokes to be funny and just kinda disliked her in general :/ otherwise i really enjoyed this, it’s one of the only christmas romance books that i’ve actually enjoyed!

A super cute and heartwarming read. I am so glad I decided to pick this up because I ended up really enjoying it.
The author does an incredible job at creating loveable and real characters. Each relationship was believable and so fun to witness, and it was clear how these characters become better versions of themselves while on their respective relationship journeys. I just fell in love with the whole Belvedere family.
The struggles surrounding addiction were also written in a refreshing way.Witnessing Birdie’s journey with acceptance and the start of her recovery without it controlling her whole life was nice. Although it was handled with care it also wasn’t Birdie’s entire story.
The loved portrayal of queer safe sex too. I feel like a lot of queer books can forget that safe sex is a thing, but the casual inclusion of PrEP, sex roles and std checks was honestly really cool. I wish more books included it, so definitely a nice touch from the author!
I would recommend this to anyone, a truly great holiday romance without being either too serious or too lighthearted. Love, love, loved.
