It took a minute to get into it, but then I was hooked. The development of the 3 siblings is so special to watch and I felt myself get teary eyed learning about their growth and journeys as queer people. Love love love. Highly recommend.

An absolute joy to read, this book has everything: family, heart, spice, and many laughs. The writing is rich and relatable, dabbled with pop culture references and hilarious winks. I fell in love with every one of the characters and wish I could spend the holidays with this delightful family at the Belvedere Inn.

The good: Liz and Violet, Rafi and Ash. Birdie starting to work on her alcoholism. Disaster bisexuals finding true love. Ji-Soo.

The bad: Birdie drinking and driving at least 4/5 times in this book. Birdie not telling a single funny joke despite being a comedian. Liz not being realistic about a Hollywood relationship. Rafi not feeling like he belongs in his own family.

Very White book. Very White Queer book. Not completely bad, but could've been better. Birdie was hard to like. Liz stressed me out. Rafi needed to see a therapist, too.

I wanted queer Christmas romance, and I guess I got it...

Most Wonderful was such a delight! And I absolutely love Christmas — so I loved the festive, wintry setting of the book — but this is so much more than a holiday novel. I'm so impressed that the author was able to successfully weave the love stories of three very different characters — and also, the beautiful, evolving relationships each of these characters had with their mother! — into one story, but she did it and she did it so well. Each of the characters are three-dimensional and so relatable (even though I am absolutely a Liz, I had quite the crush on Birdie, and really fell in love with all of them); the romance is real, sexy, and joyfully queer; the internal evolution of each main character is so evident and realistic. And it was just so much fun to read! I'm really excited to read this one again come Christmastime :)
