I got to feel Christmas in July with this read! I enjoyed this Hallmarkesque (is that a word?!) romance novel that gave us a peek into three love stories and the internal struggle each character was faced with. It was a story of growth when it comes to romantic relationships and how we need to be comfortable with who we are as individuals before we can commit to another human being. This is also a story about family. I loved how siblings who had different fathers, all loved each other in the same big way and how they knew how to come together.
I didn't hate this book, but I'm having trouble figuring out what I liked about it. There was so much potential here for some really interesting family dynamics, but everytime we got a hint of something real the book moved to the romances and barely gave time to the siblings being together.
Since the book had to give us 3 whole romances complete with 3rd act breakups, they all moved way too fast and were resolved within the last few pages, making it very hard to feel satisfying never mind believable.

A perfect holiday romcom read. And wonderfully queer.
So funny, sexy, romantic, adorable, and so VERY gay Christmas! Having love stories for three siblings was over the top cute and sticky sweet, but if you’re doing a queer holiday romcom, you might as well just make it crazy. I loved how all three had distinctive voices and personalities, though Birdie was by far my favorite (she was just SO hilarious and irreverent and damaged). I was worried that the end would get too ridiculous, but while there was a lot of drama, it wrapped up in a way that made sense and didn’t feel forced. The holidays are a good backbone without feeling too much, and I really enjoyed this.

I really wanted to love this queer novel (with three queer romances!) written by a queer author, but I found all the characters completely insufferable (especially Birdie and Babs). They were all more caricatures than characters, and none of their growth felt real or earned or believable.

Probably more like a 2.5. But this type of book isn’t for me. It was fine but I didn’t think it needed to be so long
