Love ms Austen down - but things just kind of ended up working out in the end? For everyone? Too easily…? Idk maybe that’s the point, that the biggest obstacle to overcome is not circumstances but perhaps ego

”How she might have felt, had there been no Captain Wentworth in the case, was not worth enquiry; for there was a Captain Wentworth: and be the conclusion of the present suspense good or bad, her affection would be his forever.”

OH MY GOSH. this book…. so heartbreaking, so lovely, so agonizing, and so romantic. anne and captain wentworth have my entire heart. jane, you are absolutely brilliant. a second chance romance with immense yearning? brilliant.
i was eating up the CRUMBS of these two whether it was just a simple glance or words left unsaid. UGH i was in pain, but it was so important. this love story is so important. and this book is so important. i was enraptured with their interactions, no matter how small they were, and that’s when i knew i was completely done for. also, THE LETTER????? screaming, crying, throwing up.
”’You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone forever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own, than when you almost broke it eight years and a half ago.’”
ARE YOU SERIOUS???? i think i have found one of my favorite love stories ever. this book is so special to me, and it has once again shown me how beautiful and amazing jane austen’s writing is.
