I really liked this book. I found it raw and relatable. Tate said a lot of the unspoken things about petty jealousies and other thing that sabotage female friendships - things that most of us are afraid to admit. This book came to me at a time I really needed it. If you have struggled to maintain long term friendships and are ready to do some looking within, this book is for you. It also told in an humorous tone that makes it very readable - no dryness here.

When I picked this book up, I thought it would be more of a roadmap for me to understand female friendship, and the complexities that go completely over my head. I realized very early on that the author and I didn’t think the same, and that it would be hard for me to relate to her decisions, past and present. But it made me realize that if enough people can relate to her, there are enough people who are out there that do. I think this is going to be a great tool that will help me empathize with others in the future. I find myself thinking, “there’s no way someone actually thinks like that,” but then I realized that they do, and they just don’t think like me so it’s hard to imagine.

I think anyone who wants to enter into or nurture a long-term friendship should read this.

I can’t imagine being so in your head or in your thoughts about meeting other people. This book is incredibly well written, and definitely enjoyable, but I just felt so bad for the author the entire time I was reading it.

This is my second book by this author, I feel as though she’s so relatable and genuine within her writing. I loved “Group”, by this memoir was a lovely different perspective on her life. I’d absolutely recommend this book and her other, as well.
