This book was so freaking good. It’s unlike anything I’ve read before. I love Rocky! Never has a book made me have so much emotion. I laughed and cried. I listened to this on audible so I was having these reactions in public while walking my dogs but it was totally worth it.

I really enjoyed this book and was truly sad for it to end. Basic plot is the world and others are in trouble and two beings are trying to save it.
Characters are well written and relatable. Weir writes a great flawed hero that is exceptionally clever, smart and has a sense of humor.
The plot is well supported by science which makes it easy to invest in the story. Many believable twists and character discoveries made this book hard to put down.
Highly recommend!

This is much, much more like The Martian than Artemis. I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down. I took far longer ‘bathroom breaks’ during the day than necessary just so I could keep reading.

What I liked -
I read the audio and ebook. I loved how the small things the audio book included, especially for Rocky’s dialogue.

Flashbacks - since there was no NASA to get the alternate story from, I loved how we found out Hail Mary’s and Ryland’s backstory

Rocky. Need I say more? I’ve never loved a spider so much!

The details - it would’ve been easy to make Rocky look like us, but he doesn’t. Andy does such a great job of showing how Ryland and Rocky communicate to sharing things between them.

What I didn’t like -
Length - why couldn’t this have been longer?!? I would’ve loved to read more.
