A very important read, some of the statistics were absolutely devastating. It was both hard hitting but also just so raw and real. The stories of so many men and women who have experienced sexism and sexual assault are horrific, but add such a personal element to the story. I read this in a few days, it was a very engaging format and managed to adopt the tone of utter devastation at the societal norms without sounding like a rant. This is such an important book, for everyone. Please consider giving it a read.

Repetitive. Feels unfeministic to say so, but just really a book of excerpts with statistics to back it up. Just not my cup of tea. The author obviously did her homework. Not downplaying the sexual assault in this at all. Crappy that it happens and definitely needs more exposure about how often.

I honestly feel generous for giving this book two stars because I really had a hard time finishing it. And I did it for the sake of a book discussion group. Aside from the accumulated statistics and tweets that really got under my skin, this book felt like an endless circle of redundancy. Even though sexism has many faces and sides, the author mostly based her thesis on sexual harassment, like every chapter you will find her stating examples of sexual harrasments, bash males for these ordeals, conclude it's hindering women's position in society then repeat the same process in every other chapter. There is no gradation or any progression of ideas or arguments whatsoever. While I'm reading it, I felt like I'm going nowhere with this. Statics and tweets can be easily found on the internet, so are the examples the writer utilized. If you eliminate these three things from the book, you will end up pretty much with nothing.

“This is not a men vs women issue. It’s about people vs prejudice.”

an unsurprisingly tough read - took me a while to get through it just by nature of the subject matter, but brilliantly written and super informative!
