Please, before reading this book, be informed of the trigger warnings. There is explicit content and themes that are uncomfortable or distressing, so it's important to approach this book with caution and consider your personal boundaries.

Honestly, if you've read the trilogy of fifty shades, I don't think it's worth reading this. I mean, obviously, there are still differences, but it is simply the same; it is not unique. Also, most of the dialogue between the characters felt really forced. It is also pretty predictable.
Although I'll be reading the second book because I want to give it a fair chance and see if the story improves, I can't deny that there were some intriguing plot elements that kept me engaged, especially toward the end.

I somehow could not get into the story, not because of the CNC rape play, but Vivienne's POV gnaws at me.
I skimmed after 30%, and read about her being an actual rape victim, I did feel emotional at that part, but somehow I feel frustrated at all the injustices that happened to her for Vivienne to resort to her fantasies to kinda "justify" or make sense of what happened to her.

There were also a lot of side stories that I could care less about like Arturo and Shay's story, or even Chloe's frankly especially after I found out what happened there.

All in all, I was glad I didn't spend anymore time on this book, but was just curious of how it ended, and was really let down.

Finished this in 24 hours, it’s that easy to read. It’s intense and definitely not for everyone. Trigger warnings up the wazoo. Also, it ends in a cliffhanger (which I hate).

I liked the characters, even though the way Jonah is described sometimes made me think he was a black-haired Duke Nukem.

The writing itself is not great, but it’s not awful either. It’s perfectly serviceable. The whole thing was pretty salacious but for some reason, I couldn’t fully connect with it. It felt like I was being kept at a distance as a reader.

An interesting examination of a kink that's not mine, but entirely compelling because of the work the author does selling me on it being the characters' kink.
