A pretty epic story that I had a hard time putting down, but it's held back by its awful pacing and structure. Given how long this book is, this is a pretty big deal, at least for me. On top of that, considering how long this series is and the commitment required, this is not something I think I can justify continuing, which brings down the score as well.

how do you recommend someone this?? On the one hand I like the characters and it's maybe "ruined" other isekai/litrpg stuff for me if you want to put it in the most hyperbolic, sort of mean-spirited way. On the other it's like. hey do you want to never ever not have a thing to read. If so, cool? I think I'd prefer it a lot if it felt more focused but who am I to even make demands at this point??? To put it another way: "Do you want to read one of the contenders for Longest Piece of Fiction and be surprised at how good it gets occasionally" is a question I really couldn't answer for you. Maybe if you like the genre it's workin in you have a duty of care to at least try it?
imm glad ryoka didn't just get dropped as a character for
liking Breaking Benjamin
and the comments not liking her. nice to stick to those guns I think. ill give it that?

I never wanted to put it down.
adventurous emotional

Erin Solstice turns a corner and finds herself transported from our world to a fantasy world. LitRPG with classes, skills, and leveling, which I found very fun. This began as a web serial and it very much feels like a first draft with some rough parts to the writing (for example, after focusing on Erin in third person for a few hundred pages, a new character is introduced in first person. This character’s chapters then switch between third and first, which I found jarring). However I found it strangely addictive and the writing rather charming. There is a solid amount of action, but it focuses at first on Erin building her Innkeeping class and has a cozy, slice of life feel between the fighting. I’m interested enough that I’ve already bought the second book (These books can also be read for free online, but I wanted it on my Kindle).
