Broderick isn’t your typical alpha hero. He’s awkward, and he doesn’t have muscles on top of muscles. I find that refreshing. He lets Ophelia take control because that’s what she needs, and he’s not afraid of giving into her. Ophelia was endearing, and we can see her growing into her own skin through the story. And there were some very funny moments. I have only one complaint: I wish it was longer, because I want more of these two. I received an ARC copy and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

Gotta love a Folk Haven book!
Very cute connecting a lot of what has been going on and all the new couples. I love a little filler book.
I do wish we would try to go back to the evil that is lurking at the bottom of the lake but I will wait until the bottom of the next main story book

MOOD: lighthearted, emotional, funny, hopeful
TROPES: love at first sight, friends to lovers, found family
GENRES: paranormal, shifter, contemporary
FAV QUOTE: "Anytime. Anywhere. For as long as you want me."

MAIN CHARACTERS: Ophelia (Firebird) and Broderick (witch)

I will admit my bias: I love the Fok Haven series. Now that that's out of the way...
Ophelia and Broderick are great additions to the folks we already know in Folk Haven and their story is beyond cute. Ophelia's character is flushed out and allowed to have a second chance at life. Broderick, in his adorable awkward way, shows his love and caring while always keeping Ophelia's needs at the forefront of his decisions. In addition, there are also appearances from the other Shelley witches and folks that we've come to know throughout the series so it's not just Ophelia and Broderick who get a chance to grow in this short read.

CW: mentions of child abuse
