I want more Mr. Magee and little dog Dee books! They are so much fun. The hilarity of camping is covered in this one (and of the bear who thinks a trailer hitch is a marshmallow ;)

Perhaps I love this VanDusen as much as Circus Ship (which has been my all-time favorite for the past couple of years). Great, funny story, rhyming BRILLIANTLY, with just the coolest illustrations ever. SO Maine! I couldn't love a picture book More! Full of Adventure and humor, a bear, trying to get at the yummy marshmallows, disconnects the camping trailer from the car and down the hill the camper plunders ... into the river and towards a waterfall!

Cute story about a man and his dog heading to the mountains for a camping trip in their vintage trailer... disaster occurs, but of course all turns out well.
Let me just say that Mr. Magee didn't do a very good job of hitching up his trailer. ;-)

I thought this was a fun book. The rhymes are excellent, and the meter keeps the story flowing smoothly. I expected there to be more of a "spree" to this camping trip, and occasionally the meter flops, which would create an awkward hiccup for someone reading this out loud.
