A mercifully short collection of the most neuro-typical advice available. That's not to say it's wrong, simply that there are better discussions of the same concepts in other books and that unless being told to get over it in nine different anecdotes motivates you, you're probably better served by going to the sources cited than reading the two line summary provided here.

A very accesible approach to self development. Funny, concise and accented with pop culture quotes, images and graphs.

I was sent this book for review by Tandem Collective, but all opinions are my own.

Really enjoyed this book, it’s fast, punchy and short and does what it says on the tin, in that it is a kick up the pants to start doing.

There’s a lot of words and pictures, not as much substance as I’d like but it’s like having a really good friend motivate you to start doing rather than talking about doing.

I would definitely recommend this book to non-readers or people allergic to traditional business or self-help books.

It was motivating but I think I have more dysfunction in actually finishing things than starting them. I need more help with that side of it.

I picked this book up as an impulse buy as it was on sale which maybe wasn't the best idea. The book focuses on helping people who have a specific dream they want to accomplish (like starting a business) and giving them the motivation to start. One of the reasons this book didn't work for me is probably because I'm not the target audience- I don't have a specific dream or 'itch' as the author put it. But I hoped this book would be useful in giving general motivational advice. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I thought this book was all over the place- it wasn't structured in a particularly logical order-quickly moving on from one idea to another- and these ideas didn't necessarily relate to each other. It was full of quotes and anecdotes but lacking in actual content. It gave general wide sweeping advice- mostly taking ideas from other books- but didn't give many practical tips (save the obvious ones) on how to carry out the advice. I would recommend getting a specific self help book on motivation, or procrastination or whatever your issue is rather than using this book which is a mish mash of everything but nothing in detail.

This book really didn't teach me much more than I already knew. It was somewhat motivating but not what I was looking for. This was a very fast read. If you already know the basics about setting goals and pursuing them in "small chunks", then you probably won't get much out of this book.
