Horrifying and powerful. Wiesel writes with a haunting simplicity as he describes unthinkable brutalities.

A horrifying book that left me feeling empty... A truthful and harsh documentation of the horrors of the Nazi Concentration Camps- not just in what they did to the Jews but what the Jews became in those camps...

I read this book in middle school in class and I remember the tears we all shed reading the book. It was such a beautifully written book and talked about the horrors of the Holocaust. I think everyone should read this book at least once.

There's not much to say other than it's a sad book. Clearly. I can't imagine having to witness the total decay of my family like Wiesel did. What he endured for three years and how he dealt with his guilt over how he felt when his father finally died (he was relieved without the burden). It's also incredibly frightening what people will do when it comes down to their base instinct of survival, even against their own family. This books really makes readers depressed over the realization of what was endured during those times and also incredibly grateful.
