This book was ok. The only thing keeping it at a two star rating was the narration by the author which was excellent. I found the overall book wanting. There was too much unnecessary items included in - there could have been a lot more editing done. It took a long time for the book to get to the point and by the time it got there, it fizzled out quickly as it didn't have much to hold onto. I also found it to be a bit predictable. I was constantly thinking of the movie done by Paul Walker and Jessica Alba all those years ago. It was is if the author wanted to take that story line and add some razzle dazzle to it. Overall, the book was weak.

I love mysteries and thrillers, and Reese’s book club suggested this one, so I gave it a shot. The first chapter drew me in instantly. Then—well I’ll try my best not to spoil the book, but the main character just made bad decision, after worse decision, after terrible decision, after horrendous decision, after—-you get the point. There are a few colorful characters in this, but go into this one knowing that the plot will get pretty outlandish.

Read as an audiobook. This was more like a 3 1/2 star read for me. It was good, it kept me interested but some of the twists and turns pushed me out of suspending my disbelief. I'd like to read something else by this author but I'm not going out of my way to search for the back list. An OK read.
Very good. Did not see the book going in the direction it did. Did figure a few things out pretty quickly, but all in all very engaging and a page turner.
