This got me hooked in the beginning, lost me in the middle and then hooked me back in by the end. This is my second book from the author and I really enjoyed The Family Game so I was excited to read this. I did enjoy Erin's character but I was super sus of her fiancé, Mark from the very beginning. Just the way he was written made my skin crawl. And then in the middle, I just felt lost with everything that was happening. It was a lot so I was kind of getting a little bored with it. But that ending? Wow. That was really well done. Could've been a couple of chapters shorter and my rating would've been higher. Overall, super interesting read!
Didn’t love the start of this book but it really sucked me in as the plot progressed, happy to have stuck it out!

The start of this story is extremely intriguing--a woman is digging a remote grave for her husband.
The story had me guessing but the writing was painful. I ended up skimming a lot, which I don’t do when I read books. The major twist still left me with questions! Why did this happen?! Could it not have been revealed to the reader? The characters were not likeable and most of their actions made no sense and or probability. I was very disappointed after all the hype this book received after making it to Reese’s book club. Will think twice about the books from her list now.

I had to restart this book three times because I kept being too busy to read it (until I made it a goal to finish it once and for all). I'm not a fan of the MC and it's one of the reasons why I struggled with this story. The plot in itself had potential but considering I was left with questions unanswered... I expected a little more.

I enjoyed the plot - not what I was expecting from the start of the book! However, the ending felt a little rushed so I was left with a lot of questions.
i don’t rate (most) thrillers. but i’ll still hypothetically rate them in my head. this started as a 5 with a banger of a first chapter (maybe one of the best i’ve read) and just kept decreasing until i thought i had settled on a 2.75 overall. and then i read the last two paragraphs and this plummeted to a 1. miss girl did NOT need to include that stupid “twist” at the end, it was in poor taste and terribly executed (as most of the action was in this book). didn’t get what i wanted from this book, and i can’t say i didn’t get what i was promised because the description on the back is vague as hell. just
