I think this type of book would usually be my thing because I like weird and it keeps me interested, but this was just not for me.
It felt like the story was sort of going nowhere and I was unfortunately not engaged enough to continue reading and find out.

the whole “library with all the knowledge of the world” concept is really cool and somehow the execution was completely botched. it felt like the author was trying to throw in every possible fantasy and science fiction trope and reading it felt like listening to someone else tell you their dream. the characters were flat and ineffectual - I could tell when they were saying something that is supposed to be deep and emotional for the reader and it did nothing for me because I hate all the characters sorry

For me the cost of admission was 100 pages. The beginning felt disjointed and confusing. Then all the pieces came together and I was presented with a really cool, weird, unexpected, bizarre story. I was smiling at the end of this book. I will not be forgetting this book anytime soon.
