Not what I expected. A little more disturbing than I thought it would be

Really makes you think. History has not treated women well and this story holds that of a tragedy. But, it’s important that these stories are told and not simply erased.

"The real punishment was not the raid swiftly inflicted by the villagers, but the family's deliberately forgetting her."

The look into Chinese culture in No Name Woman was very interesting to say the least.

The story builds on the concept of the gender roles of males and females and what is expected of both in their lives and culture.

I had to re-read some parts, but that was mostly because I struggled to understand things and not so much due to the actual story itself being confusing. It simply leaves a lot to think on.
