Who knew the fae could be so exciting? Donna Grant, that's who!!! When I think it can't have more WOW moments she proves me wrong. She writes a thrilling, suspense filled romance that will have you screaming for more.

Dark Alpha's Embrace introduces the reader to a half fae, River, with unique abilities. She takes care of special books in the library. She catches the eye of Reaper Kyran while he is on a mission for Jordyn. They are soon surrounded by dark face in a secret room holding the fae books.

Kyran is ready to protect her, but she can protect herself. Mind-blowing!!! He lets her go, but for how long? It isn't going to take long for Bran to discover her importance. She is putting her danger.
That can't be allowed. The reapers realize how important she is to their mission. Tensions rise. Fears grow. The danger increases. There is a chance all is lost, unless.....

A Captivating Second Adventure With The Reapers

I'm a fan of Ms Grant's paranormal romance books. I find her writing style easy to read and I like the way she paces the development of the plot. I love venturing into the fantasy world she's created and I love that her characters are not black or white, good or evil but allowed to be complex souls with a multifaceted mix of positive and negative traits. I even found myself feeling sorry for the villain in this book!

I downloaded the narration of this book too as I enjoy listening to a story as I read along. Victoria McGloven is still a fairly new-to-me voice actor but I liked her performance and the slight tonal variations that she used for the different characters' dialogue. I enjoyed her narration more in Dark Alpha's Embrace than I did for the previous book.

Due to the graphic nature of the violence and sexual scenes, I would only recommend this book to adults who are not offended by this sort of content.

If you enjoy paranormal romance tales with a multilayered backstory that keeps you turning the pages starring honourable alpha heroes and heroines with plenty of gumption, lots of action alongside beautiful romance, oh, and enough titillation to make you blush on the bus, then this ebook is definitely one for you.

After finishing Dark Alpha's Claim earlier today, I wanted to get to the other books in the series right away. But this book didn't quite compare to the first one. I felt like the story was a bit too similar to Dark Alpha's Claim - Kyran and River's interest in each other and situation to Baylon and Jordyn.

It is very well written and I have to say like all books by Donna Grant I have been sucked into the story right away. It was so good that I couldn't put it down.

I kind of feel bad for being the first one to not be singing praises for this book, but I give it only 2.5 stars. While I really do enjoy this author's works, this one was just kind of boringish. It wasn't boring per se, but nothing really happened. We get one little fight at the end and that was pretty much it. We find out a little bit more about how Bran escaped and who helped him. We find out that Death is as attracted to Cael as he is to her. And we get another Reaper mated. Oh, and we help a dark Fae to escape her family...which I think may be important in the future. The very end was by far the best part as I couldn't help but be like
SpoilerWhy is Bran planning by going to visit the Light Queen?!?

Kyran and River are our new couple. I didn't really care for River at all. It annoyed me how crazy she went over some books. I mean, she hated Jordyn as soon as she saw her again all because she hadn't returned a book to the library. Really?? I love books as much as any other rabid reader, but come on now. But of course there had to be some reason to keep her around, so she apparently was able to fight with all the lethal grace of a full Fae. Kyran was okay, but didn't impress me much. Sure, he's an honorable guy for once being Dark and his betrayal was a cruel one. But even with his determination to end the hunt on River's family by the Dark, he didn't really do anything that would woo me. I also didn't really believe their love for each other. At all. Seemed to me that it was all this "fire between them" as I think River put it.

So the Reaper are out to gather books from a list that Jordyn has put together that they need. Just so happens that most of them are together. Lucky. Easy enough to take too, but they didn't count on the librarian who fights to protect them and who knows so much of the Fae. Turns out, she's also the only one able to read them. She had been hiding her Fae side, so with her cover blown, she agrees to help them because she knows she'll be safer with them. While she works to translate all the books for them, her and Kyran can't fight the attraction they have for each other and their coming together results in something rather unexpected.

Bran is making his plans and gaining new alliances. Things really do seem to always go his way though, so when he sees that Jordyn is quite alive it was pretty fantastic. Unfortunately, seeing that Death is changing the rules when it comes to the Reapers taking a mate only fuels Bran's fury and makes him more determined to destroy them all.

I was a little sad that the Dragon Kings don't appear or are even mentioned once, but I'm hopeful that going forward they might be around more.

Book 2 in the Reaper Series, Donna continues to spin her web of captivating her readers and creating characters that are filled with mystery and intrigue.

Picking up where Dark Alpha’s Claim (bk #1) left off we find the Reapers continuing their mission and along the way having to learn to deal with some new circumstances/issues they never thought possible.

The Reapers, made up of both Dark and Light Fae work together in this team assembled by Death. As a spinoff series from The Dark Kings, the thought of Darks and Light being team members isn’t something that was thought to be believed. Apparently Death has ways about her.

Speaking of The Dark Kings Series, both series intertwine and overlap a bit - something readers may wish to consider but not an issue if you haven’t read the Dark series.

Ah yes, Death. Love how Ms. Donna creates the air of mystery and then adds a bunch of things that readers must get through in order to find out. Donna’s gift with words comes to light as she keeps her readers entranced and coming back for more.

Overall a great continuation, and I cannot wait until the next book.

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Dark Alpha's Embrace was a fun, quick read. River was a great heroine. She was a librarian, like, best job ever. But she also had a mission and stood strong to defend her family's legacy. I also love that we have another woman with the Reapers.

These Reapers seem to have major insta-love when their match appears. Reapers aren't supposed to fall in love, or have relationships, so finding the one puts their life on the line. However, I think Death has some internal emotional issues herself and those issues are making her a little more lenient when it comes to the Reapers.

I can't wait to come to a point where the Reapers are connected with the other Fae and Dragon Kings. I still feel like I really need to catch up on this series quickly since some of the events concerning the Fae and Kings were quite a few Dark King books back from where I am with that series. I also can't wait to see Death's walls break down and she allows herself a chance at love too. This review was originally posted on Rantings of a Reading Addict

Idk, the plot and conflict seemed to be superficial and shallow like the book made it sound too easy?.

Aside from that, I couldn't feel any chemistry at all with the leads like the development is pretty not there. I'm not convinced with the romance.

I do enjoy the characters more though and find them pretty interesting and so far that's the thing that I liked about this series.
