It’s always inspiring to see people who, no matter what they do, always make sure to stay true to themselves.

Inspiring to hear about his lifework, truly a marvelous piece. Reading the chapter's Lynch wrote I can hear them in my head in his voice and that is a rarity

What it lacks in critical analysis it makes up for in some wild anecdotes and lovely stories - definitely recommended for film/Twin Peaks fans

The chapters written by Lynch are predictably wonderful and 5/5 all the way. The other bits are pretty boring, flat biographical information with every sentence dedicated to reinforcing the myth that Dave is a dude who can do absolutely no wrong, which may be 95% true but is still pretty boring to read. Also, it's just shit prose with certain phrases (like 'Lynch is well known for having many projects on the go') repeated over and over again.

Still, all the Lynch bits are so so so good and I don't know how it took me so long to get around to reading this.

(also I realised too late that Lynch actually narrates the audiobook himself which would have been great, especially as I read this slowly because I had Gordon Cole reading it aloud in my head anyway.)
