I really love that Lauren was a fat woman who wasn’t just “curvy” aka big hips and boobs, I also really related to her learning to stand up for herself and knowing that she is worth more and deserves more

For starters, I thought both Alex and Lauren were more realistically in their late thirties than Marcus and April. Despite Alex's off-the-wall behavior, I found them more mature than the series's first couple. At times I didn't really see the chemistry between them, but by the end I was on board. Sorry Olivia Dade, I did love them both though! I thought Alex and Lauren both had real issues, but they worked through them together. I don't think I could end up with Alex. He's a sweetie but he would drive me up a wall. Also, his nagging and joking insults got old after a while. We get it...she's short. It was nice to have the two protagonists balance each other.
