I don't think I've quite, upon first reading, grasped the gravity of this play but it still had such a poignant and visceral feel to it as I read it. Each character, despite the play's length, felt vivid and incredibly human and therefore I enjoyed finally getting the opportunity to read one of Williams' works.

FUCK YOU STANLEY!!

throughout the whole read i felt so much for blanche. whilst some of her past (sleeping w a student) is unforgivable, i can’t help but love her character for all her flaws and her anxiety excellently presented by williams!!!! i imagine the play on stage is even more tense and therefore heartbreaking, but i even nearly teared up just reading it

all blanche wanted was to be valued. her delusions remind me of willy loman - she thinks more of herself than she actually is. ARGGHHGHHF blanche…
