“Your skin is a waste of space because there's no heart inside of you”

So this is really disappointing but I just can't give it more than 2 stars MAYBE 2.5 but that point 5 is just left over like from book one.

Hidden Bodies follows the main character Joe, creepy stalker killer that I unintentionally liked in the first book and makes him completely unlikable. Which I guess is fair on a surface level he is a serial killer after all. But what made You so unique was that Joe was a horrible human but completely charming, it showed a serial killer doing horrible shit and made me sympathise. The first book he's packed for all charisma, witty dialogue about books, and truly horrify methods of torture WHERE WAS THE JOE WHO LOCKED PEOPLE IN CAGES AND FORCED THEM TO READ? I WANT HIM BACK.

Not only was Joe's personality completely lacking, the plot was missing. The plot wasn't missing a certain thing, no, it was literally missing. SOMEONE SHOW ME WERE THE PLOT WAS? Perhaps I blocked it out in my pain. Lets recap:

Joes dating a new chick and not being a stalker because shes a new age hippy and lives off the grid, he's happy and only a little paranoid, she ends up being a bitch Joe gets sad and moves to LA. In LA he fucks, gets annoyed at dudebros, runs, meets a cliche as fuck character that becomes his new love interest, mingles with celebs, kills some people in boring ways, nearly gets caught coz he's a dick and gets a slamin bod from running.

^ yeah that's what I call boring. It's not told in Second person which is what I adored about the last book, there's no real suspense because I was so sick of Joe I was ready for him to fall in a hole and stay there.

I didn't hate anything even though my review sounds pretty ranty, I just didn't love anything. This shouldn't have been a book, all it's succeeded in doing is effect my memory for book one. Overall yeah if you loved You just skip this, treat You as a standalone I know I will be from now on.

Thank you to the publishers S&S for sending me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a slightly disappointing sequel to the first You book. I think that what made the first book in this series special is the writing style. Joe is a supremely funny protagonist. He goes on and on about the dumbest shit and his internal monologues are absolutely hilarious. In the first You book, there is an entire chapter dedicated to Joe’s opinion on Doctor Sleep by Stephen King which was incredible to read. Kepnes really knows how to write an iconic character. Sadly, much of what makes Joe Goldberg an iconic character is gone in this book. He is now an echo of what he was before. Even the stalking behaviour is gone. Joe who used to be a stalker with murderous tendencies has become a murderer period. In this aspect, I feel like the TV series (seasons 2 & 3) portrayed his character in a richer, more nuanced way. Other than the writing style, this book feels much more unfocused than the previous one in terms of the narrative. In the end, this book is enjoyable as a fun thriller but it left me disappointed as a Joe Goldberg fan. Final rating: 3/5.

The story was compelling and the characters quite interesting but it was unnecessarily vulgar and explicit. I'm not a prude. I usually couldn't care less but they're was so much of it, it really took away from my enjoyment.

Él es tan asqueroso, creo que con "todo mi cuerpo es una polla" es suficiente. Pero no puedo parar de leerlo. Adictivo. Hasta el coño estoy de pollas. Está en Hollywood=referencias constantes a películas.
El primero fue mejor pero este final... LA MATO.
