one of the most compulsively readable writing styles ever; I do think the show improved on the plot but it kept me on the edge of my seat
dark emotional funny mysterious tense fast-paced

Joe Goldberg is inside of us all, in one way or another. He is that voice we hear in the part of our brain that we keep very dark.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Love that the characters were developed more with a moral gray area for many of them, the plot becomes slow and leans away from the main story line ( plus the absence of certain characters was disappointing) but, like the first book, Joe is so much more disturbing in this form.
very sad that Fourty's death was not explained as much nor as dramatic as the show. He deserved an on page death

Copying & Pasting PART OF my review for book#1 because my opinion hasn't changed.
A creepy, dark stalker series. The TV show did an exceptional job portraying the characters and even added characters that didn't exist in the book. Even if you have seen the show, I still recommend reading it as there are some differences and the fate of some major characters aren't the same.

i mean #1 wasn't even that good, and this wasn't even close to #1. again, i prefer the netflix adaptation of this series. in particular, i like that netflix has amy adam be candace, because then joe's obsession makes sense. but in the book, his "love" for her is a tough one to believe. love and forty are as insufferable as ever. idk this just doesn't do it for me. the best parts of this are where the plot ties back into book 1
