I only enjoyed the 4th part tbh
most of the time I was fighting the urge to close the book in disgust
the ending was quite good though and it actually got me emotional

beyond beautiful. this twisted deranged obsessive depiction of love that's also so gorgeously profound. to love someone so much they become an inseparable part of you - call me by your name, share my body, keep no secrets, we are one and the same and therefore i cannot live without you. and if the world was so cold and so cruel that i had to live without you, how would i even survive? how can you live without yourself? by becoming someone you aren't. and leave whatever parts of you had ever truely lived somewhere in northern Italy. se l'amore. if this is love, then...

"we'll speak about two young men who found much happiness for a few weeks and lived the remainder of their lives dipping cotton swabs into that bowl of happiness, fearing they'd use it up, without daring to drink more than a thimbleful on ritual anniversaries"
