A Little Life is a profound and brutal novel about childhood trauma and its lifelong consequences. Although slow, detailed, and lengthy, this novel will leave you yearning for more, and hesitant to leave the characters, which you got to know so intimately, behind, and your heart feeling as though it has been squished in a hydraulic press. This has easily become one of my favourite novels of all time, and is truly a modern classic, a necessary read.

P.S. please make sure to check content warnings from reviewers. The content warnings on the main StoryGraph page for this novel are lacking, and many people understate just how upsetting this novel can be.

Definitely check the TWs from multiple sources.
The story took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I wanted to dislike this book, a lot. Especially after it made ugly cry for hours. But I can’t. It is just so beautifully written.
5 ⭐️ but be prepared to be sad and heartbroken.

This book was: impressive, excellent, traumatic (OH YES), heartwarming and yet so many adjectives to add.

It destroyed and comforted me at the same time. I've felt more emotions than I feel in a daily basis.

My fav quote is a classic one, but for a good reason so i'm just going to write it: «And so I try to be kind to everything ! see, and in everything I see, I see him.» by Harold <3

I love you: Jude, Willem, Ana, Harold, Andy, Malcolm & Julia!
