A lovely, extremely well illustrated book on American home styles starting from Native American dwellings and winding up into the late 20th century. The drawings successfully capture the essence of each building style, as well as their typical evolution and additions. Note that there are no photos in the book, I would recommend a book like [b:The Houses We Live In: An Identification Guide to the History and Style of American Domestic Architecture|1707694|The Houses We Live In An Identification Guide to the History and Style of American Domestic Architecture|Jeffery W. I would be tempted to buy a copy if I stumble across an inexpensive copy at a book sale.
