This YA book was such a wonderful surprise! I fell in love with the characters (ALL of them), the writing and the story.

Amelia and Nolan find each other through happenstance as they are both dealing with devastating loss. But while this is a story of healing, hope and finding your someone who gets you, it is also very much about family…not necessarily your biological one, but the family you make.

The writing here is simply magical, deeply felt and heartbreakingly honest. And while yes, it deals with grief, it also deals with the solace of opening up and being vulnerable in order to move forward in life.

Hard to believe this is a debut from an author that I will definitely be watching. Highly recommended.

My thanks to #NetGalley and #WednesdayBooks for providing me the early ARC. The opinions are strictly my own.

I liked it, but I didn’t love it. I wanted to immerse myself in the magical realism and soak up all of the cheesy love story, but the plot felt so familiar, like something I read a long time ago. The epilogue was a pretty solid way to wrap up the story very quickly.

A magical story I didn’t want to ever end. Loved this book.

Thank you NetGalley for the digital ARC of this book.

I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read Amelia Unabridged. However, once I started reading it, I couldn't stop and fell absolutely in love with this magical book.

If you are looking for a special, unexpected love story that centers around friendship, grief, and a beloved magical book series then you'll definitely want to pick this one up. Bonus is that parts of it take place in the cutest small town book store. I loved it so much and did not want it to end. I'm hoping we will get more of Amelia and Nolan in the future!

This book was captivating and emotional. I loved the setting of Val’s bookstore as well as the town. These characters weren’t very realistic but I really loved them.

Full review to come, because this book deserves it.

I LOVED this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the opportunity to read a copy of this digital book. What a wonderful debut of a book with a gorgeous cover. The entire book's pacing and storyline was perfect. I found myself reading faster to find out more details and slowing down to take in and enjoy the moments/scenery being written. This definitely is a keeper in my digital & physical library to revisit again & again during those times you need a comfort read. I will be hand-selling to everyone of my family and friends who read to not miss this book.

2.5 stars, Reinforces why I can do YA in small doses only and especially why I dislike romances -- everything is too convenient and the ending all too neatly wrapped up and perfect. Blah...

This book had me at booklovers going to a large book convention. Oh how I miss book signings. If you love insta-love with some heartache and coming of age stories than I think you will enjoy Amelia Unabridged. Amelia comes from a broken home, her father has left to be with another woman, and Amelia's mother is not very nurturing. Amelia makes friend with Jenna by chance at a local bookstore. Through there love of books they head out to a book convention. I loved the Michigan setting, as a Michigander myself it's great to see my state represented.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC. This did not influence my review.

This was a delightful surprise. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but when I learned that the main character loved books but that she lost her best friend suddenly, I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. I loved her journey of discovery as she tries to cope with her best friend's death, but also what she discovers about her favorite author (no spoilers). If you love books, sad realistic fiction with hopeful endings, you should definitely read this book. Yes, there were a couple of devices used in the book that one might consider stereotypical YA tropes, but honestly, I loved the story and I loved the way the story worked its way to the end. I loved imagining the world of Ormon and how it was used to help Amelia (and Nolan) deal with their pain and find a way to live with it. And I loved all the characters. I've already recommended this to people I know, including my daughter because I enjoyed it so much.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
