I had high hopes for this book after reading Tuck Everlasting, but it was not as interesting or as insightful. I probably wouldn't recommend it, except for a younger child.
I have literally been looking for this book for years!! I remember reading it in grade five and I loved it so much! I definitely want to reread it!
Rated based on my memory of reading this 20 years ago and since I still remember it, vibes say 5 stars
A beautiful little book. I first read it as a child, but haven’t really revisited it since. It is worth the revisit.
Charming story of a boy's journeys for the perfect food to define the word "delicious" in his father (a prime minister)'s kingdom's new dictionary. I shan't give away what finally makes the cut.
I enjoy the otherworldliness of Babitt's writing and this story did not dissapoint. It is more of a fairy tale style.
We loved this book. The imagery that the author builds with her phrases is beautiful. We enjoyed talking about the different phrases and the pictures that they helped us see in our minds. It's a shorter read and a very creative story that talks about the power of words and the meanings they have to each of us!
