Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this arc!! 4⭐️
After reading the blurb about this book, i HAD to read it! I was disappointed to find that the spoiler of Niall’s death in the summary doesn’t happen until you’re already 3/4ths in, but the pacing and although simplistic, really intriguing writing kept me drawn in.
There were so many plot twists, some predictable and some definitely not 😂 I really enjoyed the pacing and how everything was slowly revealed. The only character I really liked was Renzo, Amber’s husband, as he felt like just an innocent bystander in all of this. I did end up feeling bad for Beth towards the end even though she was basically Niall’s doormat. Not to speak ill of the dead, but she definitely deserved better!
I really enjoyed this thriller and will definitely be reading more of Shalini Boland’s work!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick read packed with good plot and lots of tension.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an early release copy in return for an honest review.
This book begins with a house swap between two families one in Italy one in England but what it turns into is an unpredictable wild story which will keep you guessing.
I loved the descriptions of the scenery in Italy and even found myself wanting to visit some of the places and enjoy al fresco sunset vista with a glass of wine. I have read most of Shalini Boland’s previous books and will continue to pick them up for the light escapism and thrills they provide.

I want to thank NetGalley and Bocouture for providing me with a free review copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions here expressed are my own.
A family holiday turned nightmare.
A marriage of lies.
Nothing is as it seems.
We follow two families swapping houses for a holiday, from the UK and Italy respectively. But what first seems like a perfect get-away soon turns sinister, as the main character begins finding hints that her husband and the owner of the Italian villa they're staying at are perhaps not as unacquainted as he had led her to believe...
I read this in two days and was thoroughly entertained the entire time; it's one of those books that just fly by. What didn't quite work for me were the characters, who felt a little too cookie-cutter imperfect family to me. There seemed little depth to them beyond the characteristics needed for the plot. However, I don't read thrillers for their characters, I read them for the thrill; and it certainly delivered on this front.
A compulsive page-turner full of twists and turns, perfect for fans of Riley Sager, Rachel Hawkins and Gilian Flynn.
