This book is a mythological fiction set in the mystical land of Meluha, following the life of Shiva, a Tibetan immigrant who finds himself drawn into a battle against the evil.

Two things I enjoyed the most;
First is the world building. The author did a great job in depicting not only the physical setting, but also the societal structure and norms that govern ancient Meluha. There is a lot of cultural details and philosophical themes that are truly thought provoking. It is deep, but written in a straightforward way which makes this book an easy read.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the well-written characters, especially the supporting ones surrounding Shiva. The author brought such a diverse cast of personalities with their own interests and secrets, adding layers to the story. The interactions between the characters are also often heartfelt and humorous which makes this book even more enjoyable.

Overall, such a great, easy read! Amish's ability to infuse ancient legend with modern relevance is brilliant.

ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH BOOK.
I'm not a big fan of mythologies, but wow I was astounded by the book. Everything in the book was WOW. Be it the characters, plots, story telling in other words every aspect was thrilling and captivating. I finished the book in just two days. It was SO GOOD. I loved it.

I remember getting excited to read this book because I was told that the author had a different take on Shiv's commonly or uncommonly heard mythological stories. His perspective felt refreshing. Also, what I liked the most about the book was that even the assumptions like Somras being a tonic/preventive medicine with side effects that created deformities (a new angle, because instead of calling it prasad it was presented as an invention with its benefits and drawbacks) was believable and made sense. It has been years since I read this book so I remember how it made me feel. I was happy with the the flow of this book.

Fantasy novel based on Hindu legend. Good portrayal of characters and perceptions of good vs evil.
