This was a very enjoyable Nightwing story-- I really enjoy the idea of seeing former villains trying to reform themselves. The characters were largely enjoyable, the mystery fun (though not overly surprising). All and all one of the better DC Rebirth books I've read.

'Nightwing, Volume 2: Back to Blüdhaven' by Tim Seeley collects Nightwing (Rebirth) issues 9-15. It features a decent story arc where Dick Grayson is trying to find his own way.

In the first issue, Nightwing meets the new to his Earth Superman. Nightwing is suffering nightmares based on recent events and Superman wants to help because of the past friendship that Superman remembers.

Once this is done, Dick Grayson decides he needs some time alone (Gotham City has it's fair share of Batman folks running around), so he heads off to Blüdhaven. He wants to make it on his own, and not rely on Nightwing, but before long he is pulled into a mystery involving some former villains and a series of murders they are being framed for. Apparently, Blüdhaven is where everyone wants to go to get a fresh start.

It's a decent story arc. I liked it, but I've liked other story arcs better. The art is serviceable enough for the story being told. The big reveal didn't seem like that much of a shock to me, but it's nice to see Dick Grayson remember the past and find his way in the present.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

This was one of those that I thought would be way out there and I wouldn't find as entertaining as many other comics with Nightwing, but I was surprised to find I very much enjoyed this comic and getting to see all the characters that filled its pages.

There was so much going on in Blüdhaven and fun characters like Mouse, Giz, Stallion, and so many more. Their is Nightwing trying to find out the truth about deaths that seem not to have been caused by the accused. It wasn't always eye-catching or the most unique story, but it was a fast paced read that worked really well with this issue.

I couldn't get enough of the special guests which including Superman, Batman, Robin, Batgirl... and the list goes on. The rest kept filling the pages as I kept reading and never stopped. And when it feels like the good guys, trying to get everything back to order, are going to end up victims and culprits in all of this things get shifted around and keeps me reading along.

I also liked how everything was wrapped up, when it seemed it was going too perfect, too happily scripted, another twist is thrown into the mix and makes it even better. I'm left wanting to read more of it and really liking most of the illustrations that made up this novel. It's one I will definitely be picking up for my collection.

A big step up from the last book. The art is better and more consistent, and the book sits finds the perfect pacing in building up and exploring a single arc rather than rushing several as in the last book. That lets them build a good sense of mystery, introduce and develop a bunch of good characters, flesh out those relationships, and offer a number of fun twists and turns. The themed it builds in are pretty deftly interwoven as well, save maybe a few pages in the climax, but still really solid.

And it has a really nice emotional component, even if that is in service of a tired cliche most readers will see coming.

Very excited to read the next book.

I’ve realized reading this volume that I’ve found most of Nightwing’s solo books that I’ve read pretty boring. I love this character dearly, but I don’t find much particularly interesting about the pretty standard narration and storylines that he gets up to. After a while it feels a bit samey. Personally, I find that he works better when paired with other heroes, such as in the Titans or when he teams up with Batman or something. Going to keep reading but not loving it
