I am not entirely sure I can pinpoint exactly why this book missed the mark for me. It's just one of those things where you know something isn't right but you cannot for the life of you figure out what. The characters were fine, not great, just okay. The plot was expected, nothing jumps out at you. I have read many beauty and the beast retellings and usually, most do well blending the original plot with their own twist. this one missed the mark a bit. it wasn't terrible but not great either.

Lorelei Johnson does it again with this Tantalizing Tale, this fairytale with a twist is entertaining and fast paced. Beast is not what is expected and Belle is spunky and brave. This was a great afternoon read.

These books have definitely become my little guilty pleasures. Which is prob why I felt a bit let done with this one. The world building was fun, I loved the characters and the complete revamp (excuse my pun) that was done to this classic story. It was however missing the scorching steam that I have come to associate author Lorelei Johnson with. I do feel that this would be a good dip the toes in for anyone who hasn’t read any of her work!

NEW EXTENDED VERSION: RATED 5 STARS
I really adored this new rewritten and extended version of Lorelei Johnson's original novella, Beauty and the Beast.This rewrite has made the story a whole lot better and given so much more depths to the characters.
You can actually understand why the curse came about, sympathise with the characters and see them more clearly than before and there are so many new plotlines added from the original story.
I really did love this new retelling and am excited for the next one. If you love fairytale retellings, adult fantasy stories, paranormal romances, and steamy eroticas then this book would be right up your alley!
PREVIOUS VERSION: RATED 4 STARS
I really enjoyed this short but adult retelling of beauty and the beast.
The plot paid much homage to the original while also adding in new content and twists that were exciting to read.
I love the twist of the supernatural elements in this retelling and really enjoyed the steaminess of it.
Timeline and setting were a little off as I couldn't tell if it was fully a fantasy setting (therefore why would there be zippers on clothes) or if it was a more modern setting (which begs the question why belle would be in a gown if this was so) but I'm prepared to overlook it considering it was only a small transgression of setting.
There were a few spelling errors I caught but seeing as the books are being revamped and rewritten I'm assuming they will be seen to in the rewrite.
