Quick binge (I love short chapters). There were a lot of characters and timelines to keep track of, so I did have a hard time keeping everything straight. But the ending and how everything was related came together well, though like most thrillers, I wanted a little more. The twist at the end of part 1 I did not see coming at all. Very fast-paced and highly recommend!

I absolutely loved Alex Finlay's first two books, especially, The Night Shift. He has quickly become a favorite mystery/thriller writer for me. His last one did not quite hit the mark for me as a favorite. But he was definitely back on his A game with If Something Happens To Me. This was so fast paced and kept me up late reading. This is the story of the mysterious disappearance of a teen girl, Ali. Right away, the boyfriend, Ryan quickly becomes the top suspect. But with no real evidence and him having a really good lawyer, he is never charged. But he continues to have a cloud of suspicion hanging over him. Years later Ali's car is found at the bottom of a lake with two dead men and a cryptic note inside. Things quickly take off from here. There were so many twists and turns in this one that I didn't see coming, especially the ending. Overall, a fun, fast paced read and I will continue to read whatever he writes in the future!

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for sending me an early copy of this audiobook! All opinions are my own!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, and I still came out of it surprised at the end. It was full of twists and turns in every single chapter, and I can honestly say there wasn't a single moment that I was bored. It left me absolutely intrigued to the point that I read it much faster than I normally would because I simply needed to know what was going to happen so that I could stop thinking about it!

I think my favorite part of this book is how many different story lines are woven together. At first I was worried that it wasn't going to come together well enough at the end, but I think it was really expertly done, and I greatly enjoyed watching things fall into place.

This was an absolutely wild ride, and I would highly recommend it to any thriller/mystery lover out there!

This book was so good that I flew through it in a day.

This kicked off with some action and it felt like it never really let up. The multiple POV was easy to get into, and keeping all the characters straight wasn’t hard, especially since they’re so different from one another. The chapters are pretty short and would usually leave off on a cliffhanger, and both of these things made this book easy to binge. I was so caught up in the mystery and wondering where the story was going to go, and there were multiple twists that had my jaw hanging open. The end especially had me on the edge of my seat, and I liked the way the epilogue tied things up.

This was my first book by Alex Finlay and now I’m going to rush to read his others!

Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the advance copy.

I was expecting this to be full of high school or college aged characters based on the summary, but it was completely different from my original predictions. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and several also have nicknames to learn, so the beginning felt overwhelming as I tried to organize everyone and their relationships with each other in my head. Once the connecting thread was revealed, it became a totally different story than I was expecting. It was a short book that felt fast-paced and could definitely be finished in one sitting. If you’re new to thrillers, this would be a good book to start you off.
