My mum gave a dramatic reading of this while we were in the library. So I feel like I have unreasonably nice energy associated with this story. It was good though, my mum was very good at giving it dramatic tension and all that. Too short and long ago to give a rating but I enjoyed the like crack of light and all that.
i technically only read ‘the tell-tale heart’ and not the other short stories in this book, because i read it quickly whilst sitting in foyles so that i wouldn’t have to pay for it lol.
but it’s a fascinating story and the murderer lowkey reminds me of perry from ‘in cold blood’, because of the way he exclaims his admiration and love for his victim, yet he kills him nonetheless.
i would like to read more of edgar allan poe’s work—perhaps even the other short stories that i didn’t get round to, when speed-reading in foyles.
