Riveting until the end

This book is a reread. The author did an amazing job. I only have three complaints, the ending was too short, the story was a bit unbelievable at times, and I would have liked a little bit more of the story to show Laura's development a bit more.

The author does an amazing job at bringing out the emotions of the characters. At times the story is lighthearted and comedic but still stays true to a serious romance between characters. I especially like how the two main characters were both extremely similar and yet opposites at the same time. The author did a great job of portraying two women, who lead completely different lives and who have made completely different choices in the past, connect emotionally and fulfil a part in each other's lives that was desperately needed. I fully recommend this book. I wish it had been longer.

I very much enjoyed reading the author’s 2023 release Behind the Scenes, and was excited to discover she had written books even before Satisfaction Guaranteed — but this book is not those books. The author’s writing has really grown, and it shows. I look forward to future releases but think I’ll pass on anything pre-SG.

As other reviews have mentioned, I also came to a full stop at one particularly TERFy comment (something like not being able to tell if girls these days were actually men - yikes). I hoped I was misinterpreting it, but after reading other reviewers’ notes, it only adds another reason to DNF.

This book was weirdly nothing like the author’s two newer books. Not funny and charming, and a couple weird transphobic asides.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
I would definitely recommend this book to read.
Firstly, I would like to say that this book is very well written. The characters were also well developed, it felt as if I knew them personally. The author successfully was able to bring out the emotions of the characters, either it be a serious moment or comedic. This story had a strong plot, and was extremely engaging. I have to say, this is one of the books you close at night and it sits on your nights stand saying "read me, just one more chapter!"

Entertaining romance, a nice bit of escapism.
