While the premise and plot was interesting, there were so many POVs it was hard to get attached or invested in any of the characters. I did enjoy the background and nuance of the villain. Added some interesting depth to the story.

Just so many words that did very little for me. I love long books but this felt like it should've been much shorter. This is the first time I had to put effort into places to get an image of the character or environment.

Just really couldn’t get into the story. Historical fiction is not generally my thing but i thought the fantastical elements would make up for it, they didn’t. The writing was also just kind of average so nothing was really grabbing my attention.
