I wasn't sure what to expect from this book and was impressed with what I found.  The author goes through hot topic issues related to racism, lifts up common responses or (mis) understandings, and addresses those head on.She challenges readers to confront how they have thought about these things.  Additionally she provides ways the reader can address these things in conversation with others. It is easily accessible and written for a wide audience without any prior education on racial issues.  It is targeted primarily to whites, but would also be a helpful book for people of color to know how they can respond to racism and to examine how they may perpetuate racism against racial/ ethnic groups they do not belong to.

An absolutely essential read for ANYONE interested in justice and dismantling systemic injustice against people of color. Super informative and accessible and does a good job of covering a variety of topics within the fight against racism and racial inequality and discrimination. This is a great starting point for anyone who wants to learn more about this and wants to find more ways to help.
