For the majority of the book i didnt really click with it even though i was engaged in the plot once i put it down i rarely got the incentive to pick it back up although i have had my own issues with mental health going on, which ironically enough is what made the end so enjoyable for me it was as if Deborah was reflecting me and how i felt.

I loved Hannah Greens portrayal of those with mental illnesses especially for the time it was written in (1964) and how she presents them as real people realistically delving into their thoughts and the reasons behind their actions honestly making me wonder if some of it was personal to her as well. The ending wasnt entirely satisfying but it was realistic and set a hopeful tone but overall a nice book with stunning grotesque imagery but i probaby wouldnt read it again honestly.
