I feel confused by this one. 2 stars might be too harsh but I really felt like the author wrote two different books with 2 different FMCs swapping halfway through. I thought she’d be a know it all smarty pants based off her own personal description the first two chapters but that personality never comes to fruition. There’s also characters that sort just don’t become anything. Collin and her mom specifically… what was the point there? If this was just a cute rom com of her traveling abroad and falling in love with a rich playboy I’d give it 3 stars but the bomb that gets dropped halfway through turns this into a totally different storyline in my opinion.

SPOILER RANT AHEAD.

They both agree they don’t want to date but when she finds out he’s sick they decide to go full blown bf/gf (this is of course after she freaks out on him and leaves him basically about to pass out on his stairs). She’s never left the US and received this amazing scholarship to study at Oxford for a year but ends up in a relationship within a few weeks and also her first day there accepts a campaign job from the US and is pretty much on call 24/7? What a waste of an opportunity.

I think she has a multiple personality disorder because she agrees to be his girlfriend and there for him while he basically dies but the next day is like well I’m leaving in June for this job I took over the phone and never actually met the people in person. She ends up making the decision to stay 95% into the book so good riddance there I guess. I also wish we got more of an answer at the end. Does he die a month or two later??? Years later? It’s like the book took a 180 turn halfway through only to leave the reader wondering what became of these two.
