Slice of life about an aspiring court herbalist running from creepy captors who are obsessed with her hair color. Simultaneous cute and cringe. Cute because a romance is budding, but cringe because men want to capture a woman due to sexual attraction.
Graphic: Emotional abuse and Stalking
Moderate: Violence

Shirayuki has hair the color of a red apple, and that garners her a lot of unwanted attention. The prince of her home kingdom of Tanbarun insists she become his concubine, but she slips off to the neighboring kingdom of Clarines instead. At a deserted cottage in the woods, she runs in to several other men who also remark on her hair, and one happens to be the second prince of Clarines! Prince Zen offers Shirayuki protection for the prince of Tanbarun, but that doesn't stop the unwanted attention. Shirayuki studies to become a Court Herbalist, and her travels studying plants frequently make her a target for bandits and others willing to sell her to make themselves a fortune.
It's a little difficult to believe that quite a few men in this world are driven wild by hair color, even if it is exceptionally rare. I'd like to see a little more that explains how hair color causes men to lose their self-control. I'd also like to see Shirayuki learn some defensive skills. She's obviously very gifted in using herbs to her advantage, even in a way to defend herself, so she's very clever and resourceful. But, there's a lot of coincidences where Zen happens to be close enough to save her, and I'm either going to start thinking Zen is following her, or the mangaka is employing lazy storytelling.
VIZ rates this for teen, and it's so far a fairly tame title, other than the possessive men and the strong hints that they want Shirayuki to sleep with them.
