this was my favorite one of the series so far. I think that the relationship while a little rushed at the end since this was more slow burn, had the most realistic feel to it.
I was surprised that this wasn't the person from the hospital or clinic that Talon went to in book 2 when he was taken, but Seb was just as good for the character.
I am still debating on reading Vance's story but I probably will since I am really enjoying this series.

Even though this really doesn't show much in the way of our HERO's, it's still a really great book in the series. I love Sebastian and Gray so much. So excited for the next one.

This book is fantastic! I read the first two in the series, but they didn't do much for me. The writing is very good, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I just happened to grab this one randomly and I'm so thrilled I did! The pacing was never too fast you didn't have time to process, but never so slow things lagged. The MCs were nuanced and didn't sound like each other. The mystery part of it wasn't really the point, but it was a nice backdrop and not easily figured out. The relationship between the MCs moved at a perfect pace for them. Honestly, I had trouble putting this down- Reading later than I should and sneaking it during downtime at work.
However, there is something I didn't love and that's the female characters in this book. I can't read MF because of the stereotypes and cultural misogyny interwoven into the story. Periodically I can't avoid it in mm either.
1. There are three secondary characters who are female. All three were only defined and valued by their nurturing roles. They literally had no other worth to the plot or to anyone in the book.
2. One of these women is pregnant. Her husband tells her she's going to sit down the rest of the day. He told this... to a fully grown woman. He didn't say he was concerned and ask her if she could please rest so he wouldn't worry. He didn't respect her ability to be an adult and treated her like a child who isn't capable of making decisions about/for their own body. I truly doubt the author meant anything other than an "aww" moment, but I can't let it go without comment.

Wasn‘t too fond of this one. I think in general its a good idea to not just work through all the guys from Talons Team but Seb and Gray didn‘t have any chemistry for me. I was bored during the first chapters if it wasn’t part of this loved series it would have been a DNF for me 😞
So three stars because I love the enhanced universe 😉

Entertaining, though this bodyguard did far more than guard Seb’s body. I wasn’t quite clear on what Seb’s talent was or what the experiments hoped to achieve which weakened the plot a little for me. But if you take everything at face value it was enjoyable.

now since i just said one book by this author ick, why this one? dont ask
but also. this book has my other not so fun trope when it's badly done featured. break one guy and get the other one to fix him. my guy is constantly puking and getting screwed with by his father plus doctor. it tugs the heartstrings it really does. but the depiction of it is so very unsavory i just... blargh. both of them need mental help. this is not to say that im against shipping mentally ill people. its just that the mental illness should not be the REASON they're together.
